It has been confirmed today that Shelbourne FC will move into a ground share in Dalymount Park with Dublin rivals Bohemian FC.
Dublin City Council confirmed to 98FM that they have agreed a deal with the club to acquire the lease for Tolka Park, which paves the way for them to become a tenant at the new Dalymount.
The assistant chief executive for Dublin City Council Brendan Kenny confirmed that an agreement is in place and to be finalised in the next few weeks.
DCC purchased Dalymount Park for €3.8m and will be re-developing it into a 10,000 all seater stadium.
Speaking to 98FM, A spokeman for Shelbourne said: “We hope to be in a position to announce our part in the project in the coming weeks.”
“We expect to be relinquishing our interests in Tolka Park and moving to a revamped Dalymount as Co-Anchor Tenants with Bohemians, but as the plans for the new stadium have neither been drawn up, or discussed in detail, yet we will not be commenting further at this stage.”
