Connacht Rugby could be set for a groundshare with Galway United as talks to increase the capacity of the Showgrounds Stadium have stalled.
The move would include a redevelopment of the stadium and bring Eamonn Deacy Park to a capacity of between 8,000-12,000 as being current Pro 12 champions Connacht need a bigger stadium than their current one at a capacity of 7,500.
It was reported in the Irish Independent that Connacht representatives are to meet members of the Galway FA (the owners of the ground). Some level of discussions have reportedly already taken place with FAI Chief Executive John Delaney.
More news to follow on the story as nothing has bee confirmed.
