Eir Sport to show both Cork City Europa League ties with KRC Genk

Eir Sport have confirmed this afternoon that they will broadcast both legs of Cork City’s Europa League ties — the first of which takes place at the Luminus Arena this Thursday at 7pm (Irish time), followed by the return fixture at Turner’s Cross (7.45pm) seven days later.

“We are delighted to be able to show our support for both Dundalk and Cork in the latter stages of these qualifiers by showing both legs live,” said Brian Quinn, Eir Sport’s Operations Director.

“It would be fantastic to see them both make it all the way to the group stages where we’d love to be able to feature them in our coverage further.”

The move again is showing the dedication the new station has to promoting Irish football as they will be showing both Dundalk’s Champions League ties with Bate Borisov this week and next.

  1. Good to see they will show both Cork City and Dundalk’s European ties, but we might not be able to see the 2nd Leg ties next week on Virgin Media because of a row between Eir and Virgin Media over subscription costs. VirginMedia have said they will discontinue showing Eir Sports and BT Sports from Aug 1st unless the 2 of them can sort this out. Not fair to Irish Soccer fans being used like this.
