A Kurtis Byrne hatrick for Bohemians knocks former club and holders Dundalk out of Leinster Senior Cup

A Kurtis Byrne hatrick was the difference tonight in Dalymount Park as Bohemians knocked out holders Dundalk in the Leinster Senior Cup in a thrilling game that ended 4-3 to the Dublin side.

Dundalk got off to a great start and took the lead on 13′ with a goal from Michael O’Connor only to be pegged bag on 29′ as Bohemians equalised through Anto Murphy and that’s how the first half finished.

The second half was where most of the action came and Kurtis Byrne deservedly put Bohemians in front with a thunderbolt on 69′ but Michael O’Connor found the net again for Dundalk on 74′ to level up the game once more.

Kurtis Byrne added two more against his former employer including a free kick just outside the area to wrap up the game for the Dublin side.

Jordan Kelly pulled back a consolation for Dundalk in the 90′ but the game finished 4-3.
