A massive breakthrough for former St Patrick’s Athletic player Chris Forrester who was today named in Martin O’Neill’s provisional squad for the Ireland friendlies against Switzerland & Slovakia at the end of the month.
Forrester left Pat’s to join Peterborough United last season and has been nothing short of magnificent in his time across the pond.
He has been a driving force in ‘The Posh’ pushing for promotion to the Championship and has been getting rave reviews for his performances from many different people.
The Peterborough chairman had stated that he would not be sold for anything less than £3m and has also been described as the next Michael Carrick.
It is a well deserved call up that proves Martin & Roy are looking at all options and hopefully this gives more League of Ireland players the belief to fulfill their dreams of playing for their country.
From all at LeagueofIreland.ie, we wish you all the best and congratulations on the call up.
