Sligo Rovers have announced the signing of Drogheda United goalkeeper Michael Schlingermann yesterday evening.
The PFAI Goalkeeper of the Year 2015 signs for Dave Robertson’s side on a one year deal.
There were rumours of many clubs interested in the Mayo man after his heroics last season for Drogheda United.
He was part of the Drogheda team that finished as runner-up in all three domestic cup competitions in 2013, including the FAI Cup to Rovers.
He was an ever-present with Drogheda last season playing every minute of the league season and has a total 134 career appearances.
He has already played with the Connacht side after playing for them in 2009.
He will be unveiled at a press conference at Connolly’s Volkswagen, Sligo, this Thursday.
